Walking With The Wounded Fan Dance | September 2024
Support one of the UK’s leading Veteran support charities by taking on a British Military icon, the Fan Dance. For over 60 years the Fan Dance is the ultimate challenge for British Special Forces, used to determine whether UKSF recruits have both the physical anbd mental determination to have what it takes to serve in UKSF.
The Fan Dance is a 15-mile (24 km) load bearing march in the Brecon Beacons. Starting at the infamous Storey Arms Red Telephone Box, participants go on to climb Pen y Fan’s west slope (facing Corn Du) and then descend on the far side, known as Jacob’s Ladder. The rest of the route follows the old Roman road before going back on itself for the return leg.
